+ Christmas Traditional Latin Midnight Mass +

featuring: a choir and chamber orchestra for Franz Joseph Haydn’s Missa St. Joannis de Deo Cesar
Prelude music begins at 11:30. Mass will conclude around 2:00 AM


Midnight, December 24
Assumption Grotto, Detroit
featuring: the Assumption Grotto choir and chamber orchestra for Franz Joseph Haydn’s Theresienmesse
Prelude music begins at 11:45. Mass will conclude around 2:00 AM. The Theresienmesse was to be repeated at the 9:30 a.m. Mass on December 27th E.F. and the noon Mass on January 3rd.

each featured Marc-Antoine Charpentier's Messe de Minuit de Noël



Weekday Missa Cantatas at St. Josaphat - Throughout 2009, St. Josaphat continued to hold Tridentine High Masses (Missa Cantata) on many of the First and Second Class Feast Days which specify a Gloria and Credo. The schedule for the second half of 2009 (pdf) was as follows. Unless otherwise specified, all Masses were at 7:00 PM:

Saturday, August 15 (9:30 AM): Assumption (Holy Day)
Saturday, August 22 (9:30 AM): Immaculate Heart
Thursday, September 8: Nativity of the Blessed Virgin
Monday, September 14: Exaltation of the Holy Cross
Tuesday, September 15: Seven Sorrows of the BVM
Monday, September 21: St. Matthew the Apostle
Tuesday, September 29: Dedication of St. Michael the Archangel
Wednesday, October 28: Ss. Simon & Jude
Monday, November 2: All Souls
Monday, November 9: Dedication of Archbasilica of Our Savior
Monday, November 30: St. Andrew the Apostle
Tuesday, December 8: Immaculate Conception (Holy Day)
Monday, December 21: St. Thomas the Apostle
Monday, December 28: Holy Innocents

Una Voce Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti organized trips to several of these Masses, for those who cannot regularly attend a Traditional Latin Mass on Sunday mornings, and aims to do so for each of the remaining Masses. Please email us if you will be making such a special trip or are in need of transportation for future such opportunities.


October 10, 2009 - Friends of UVAA/Y from Generation Christ held the inaugural Ann Arbor area Pilgrimage - 15.5 mile walk of prayer from St. Andrew to St. Thomas.

June 13, 2009 - Lauda Sion: Catholic Liturgy in a Time of Reform

Una Voce Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti took three members to Kalamazoo, MI for the conference (pdf flyer here). The conference was a day long affair in which the schola learned the Sequence hymn of Corpus Christi as well as some Latin and English propers, which were then sung at the Vigil Mass. more.

June 7, 2009 - St. Albertus held a special TLM on Sunday, June 7th, at noon.

March 18, 2009 - As part of the Lenten Wednesday series, Msgr. Brown celebrated an Extraordinary Form Mass at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, MI, at 7:00 PM.

February 15, 2009 - Lansing Bishop Earl Boyea celebrated a traditional Pontifical Low Mass at All Saints Church - Flint, MI - at 4:00 pm
The Mass was assisted by the Assumption-Windsor Tridentine Choir.
All Saints Church is located at G-4063 Pierson Road, one block east of the Pierson exit off I-75.


January 6, 2009 - the Mass of the Epiphany of Our Lord will be celebrated at St. Josaphat at 7:00 PM.


January 1, 2009
January 1st is a holy day of obligation. There will be a Missa Cantata at 9:30 AM at St. Josaphat.
